Everything that you want in the future is here
What if chasing everything that you desire in the future is actually running away from them in the present moment?
A Key Lesson
This month, a big lesson that came to me was,
“Everything that you want in the future is here. Their presence live in this very moment with you: on the chair that you sit, on the bed that you lay, in the room that you reside, in the local coffee shops that you go to… They live right here with you in every moment, with every breath. But do you stop to see, reveal, and acknowledge their presence?
Or do you continue to see that they’re somewhere in the distant future because you don’t actually want them now as you say you do…
Your job isn’t to chase your desires as if they reside in the future. Your job is to reveal them in their present forms now, if you truly want to live them.”
Courage
I realized that the act of living your dream life now is a courageous one. Because it means that you are taking ownership of everything you desire in the future now. You are not saying, "I want to live this kind of life one day”, and then move on to postpone your actions in some distant future.
Instead, you take ownership of everything you want in the future now. You’re saying, “What I want to achieve in the future is possible now. What I want is here with me. I am going to co-create with the Universe to manifest this now”. You follow through with small actions, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year. Consistent, persistent, and patient actions.
You choose to live your dream life now. Not a time in the future. This is a courageous act. And a vulnerable one.
Questions to reflect upon:
If my future dream actually lives is in the here and now, how do I see myself building a relationship with it? Do I welcome it into my current reality? How would I co-create with it? If my future dream was here now, how would I work with it with the current resources and strengths that I have?
Fear, Intimacy and Vulnerability
Living your dream life now is a vulnerable act because it requires that you face all of your fears.
Leila Homozi often say, “Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep”.
The paradox is that the more fears you are able to face, the stronger you become. By exposing yourself to more positions where you feel vulnerable and weak, you become stronger. By seeing your own weaknesses and face them, you gain the ability to see yourself with true strength.
Facing yourself in this way is cultivating vulnerability. You are making a bridge to connect with yourself deeper. When you get vulnerable with yourself, you give yourself the space to be intimate and present with what is inside. You get to know yourself more emotionally. You get to know your own essence. This allows you to get to know your dreams, visions, goals, and desires more intimately. And therefore, revealing them from the future state into the present moment.
That is why vulnerability is a form of courage. Because it takes a lot courage to be vulnerable. To appear weak, to appear imperfect to oneself and another. But it is not just about appearing. It is truly accepting and letting ourselves be seen in that way.
When you are always under the assumption that you have to be perfect in order to be loved, you are creating a false facade of who you think you need to be in order to be accepted. You are not able to see your true self. You end up abandoning yourself. But when you truly learn to accept all of yourself, for your flaws and setbacks, you learn to embrace your own imperfection, and thereby embracing others for theirs. You are able to see your true self and other people’s true selves underneath the masks they wear.
Vulnerability is a form of courage. Vulnerability is what it takes to grow.
My iPhone notes this month
Take imperfect actions
Publish your unfinished work
The best way to work with fear is to let it go
Don’t change yourself to accommodate other people’s comfort
It is in inevitable. That goal, that dream, that milestone, that success.
Pour so much love into yourself that you grow healthy and strong.
You are powerful. The power you have is in every present moment — how you choose to work with yourself and your desired reality now.
The energy of following through is powerful: “I do what I say I would do. I follow through with my words. I keep my promises to myself”.
Your life is built in decades. In a decade from now, you are a completely different person living a completely different life. Have the courage to follow your dreams. Everyone starts from somewhere. That somewhere is often not glamorous. Embrace the start as much as the finish line.
What you want to do in life is not given to you by a mistake, but by design. You are given all of the gifts and talents needed to accomplish what it is that you deeply desire because that is the design of this intelligent universe. So I don’t think for a second that this is a mistake or it’s by luck or by chance. This is by design. It is meant to be. The vision that you have for yourself is the one you’re meant to create and have the capability of creating. Because the universe knows that you are the one who has that capability that is why you were gifted the vision and desire in the first place — because you are the one who are able to accomplish it.
Favourite question someone asked me
“If you could go back in time, what do you wish you did more of?”
The reason why I love this question is because it points to me what is important in the present moment for me.
My immediate answer to that question was, “I wished I started creating content since I was a child”. My answer made me realize that my desire for creativity and self expression originated from a young age, only I didn’t have the internal environment of love and safety to bring these qualities and elements out. Therefore, creativity and self expression were kept hidden, until now.
What is your answer to this question?
